Tyson Fury will wear a pair of trainers given to him by the late Kronk gym coach Emanuel Steward on Saturday night when he steps through the ropes to face world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at the ESPRIT arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Fury, 24-0 (18 KOs), donned the white and gold Mizuno boots, given to him in 2010, at his open workout at Dusseldorf Airport, in full view of Klitschko, and spoke of their importance.

“These shoes were given to me by the late, great Steward in 2010,” Fury said ahead of the bout, live on Sky Sports Box Office. “I’ve had them for most of my big fights and they’ve never let me down yet.

“When I’ve got these on I feel like I’ve got the fastest feet in the world. They might be old and dirty, but they’re sentimental and I’m going to wear them for the biggest fight of my life.”

Steward, who got WBA Super, WBO and IBF title holder Klitschko back on track after a stunning knockout defeat to Lamon Brewster in 2004, died in 2012, but Fury met the legendary American when he visited the Klitschko camp in Austria.
