The latest WBC heavyweight rankings have been released and there’s good news for Team Fury fans – Tyson Fury is rated at number three and Hughie Fury finds a spot at number thirty.
The heavyweight pair have begun 2015 with a bang, both registering good wins in February, and the WBC have duly recognised their achievements.
Hughie defeated dangerous Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko on February 21 in Monte Carlo in what was a major step-up for the 20-year-old. He now finds himself ranked above the likes of Eddie Chambers, Derrick Rossy and former WBA world heavyweight title challenger Andrzej Wawrzyk.
Tyson, meanwhile, dominated and stopped Romania’s Christian Hammer on February 28 at London’s O2 Arena and is now well-placed for a shot at a version of the world heavyweight title. He is mandatory challenger to Wladimir Klitschko’s WBO world heavyweight crown and, according to this latest set of ratings, very much in line for a shot at Deontay Wilder’s WBC crown, too.
All in all, 2015 promises to be a big year for the fighting Fury family.
